BUFFALO ON THE AUCTION BLOCK NOV. 17 - Nov. 10, 2010
On Wednesday, Nov. 17, the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) will conduct a public buffalo auction at 11 a.m. at the Maxwell Wildlife Refuge corrals, 6 miles north and 1 ΒΌ miles west of Canton. Approximately 55 buffalo will be offered, including four two-year-old bulls, 15 bull calves, 18 heifer calves, eight adult cows, six yearling bulls, and four yearling heifers.
Grant Awarded to Wood Bison Restoration Project - Nov. 05, 2010
The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Wildlife Conservation, has been awarded a grant of $152,320 from the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) to help complete the first reintroduction of wood bison to the wild in Interior Alaska.
