Grant Awarded to Wood Bison Restoration Project - Nov. 05, 2010The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Wildlife Conservation, has been awarded a grant of $152,320 from the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) to help complete the first reintroduction of wood bison to the wild in Interior Alaska.

In an effort to help delay bison movement into agricultural lands and reduce bison-caused crop damage, the Department of Fish and Game is opening the Delta Bison hunting season early this year.
